8-31-20 Results of Industry Survey on RFP Volumes
A joint survey by the DCIIA Retirement Research Center and the SPARK Institute found sharply divergent pandemic-era impacts on RFP volumes: recordkeepers saw a 47% decline and consultants/RIA aggregators saw a 50-60% drop, while DCIOs reported average volume increases of 453%. The release notes that travel restrictions were a key driver of the recordkeeper decline, while fund performance reviews prompted an uptick in DCIO activity.
