Helping You Navigate Your DCIIA Experience

DCIIA’s standing committees bring members together around the retirement industry topics they care about most. Joining a committee is a great way to explore a targeted area of interest, connect with peers who share that focus, and become part of an active member community. Committees meet virtually 2-4 times per year, with leadership and working groups meeting more frequently.

Committees offer a high-impact way to engage with DCIIA around targeted interests, build meaningful industry connections, and learn from peers who are tackling similar opportunities and challenges. They also create natural pathways for collaboration and leadership through working groups and leadership groups.

DCIIA’s standing committees power our educational mission and help elevate best practices across the defined contribution industry. They create high‑value content and connection points through webinars, virtual meetings, and concise written primers (“Snapshots”) on timely topics.

Each committee also plays a key role in shaping DCIIA’s flagship events:

Together, these committees help ensure DCIIA’s programming stays relevant, forward‑looking, and connected to member needs.

Anyone at a DCIIA member organization, including members of the Plan Sponsor Institute (PSI), can sign up for any of DCIIA’s standing committees. To join, log in to the DCIIA website, visit the committee page that interests you, and click “Join.”

Senior leaders are encouraged to invite team members, mentees, and other colleagues to get involved with DCIIA committees. Committee participation helps organizations get more value from their membership while supporting learning, networking, and relationship-building across the industry.

Committee members can choose the level of engagement that works best for them. Full committee meetings are held 2-4 times per year via Zoom and typically include updates on committee initiatives and guest speakers. Members who want to contribute more actively can participate in small working groups, which are formed to advance specific projects in collaboration with committee leadership.

DCIIA is a grassroots organization, and many ideas, topics,and speakers come directly from members. If you would like to suggest a guestspeaker, recommend a timely topic, or help shape a committee conversation,please reach out to DCIIA staff.

The Advisory Group supports DCIIA’s thought leadership initiatives, including virtual events, short papers, and other educational content. Its members include communications professionals and subject‑matter experts from across DCIIA’s membership.

The Group offers practitioner perspectives on short papers and other thought leadership and helps to ensure DCIIA’s content is educational in tone, timely and relevant, and impactful for the retirement ecosystem. The group also provides insights on around thought leadership including but not limited to social media, video, and public relations. Any DCIIA or PSI member is welcome to participate.

Yes. In addition to standing committees, DCIIA has the following:

• Executive Committee: Senior leaders from select member organizations who provide strategic guidance and oversight. They meet in person at each Forum and occasionally convene virtually.
• Forum Steering Committees: Member volunteers who help shape the Innovation Forum and Public Policy Forum. When DCIIA co‑hosts a Forum, representatives from partner organizations also join. Steering Committees typically meet weekly or biweekly for 2–3 months to set agendas, review speaker proposals, and support outreach.
• Academic Forum & RRC Summits: These are managed by RRC staff, with planning led exclusively by RRC members.

Committee leaders are selected through a nominations process. Ideal leaders are:

• Deeply familiar with and committed to DCIIA’s mission
• Passionate about advancing education and best practices in the industry
• Able to dedicate time to leading meetings and committee projects
• Well‑connected within their organization and across the industry, enabling speaker recruitment and idea generation
• Available for monthly calls and responsive to scheduling needs
• Positioned within a role or organization aligned with the committee’s focus, ensuring relevant and differentiated project ideas

PSI members receive an email with a short TRP application several weeks before each Forum. The PSI Executive Committee reviews applications and typically responds within three business days.

Your firm must be a PSI member, and applicants must serve in a plan sponsor role (e.g., HR, Finance, Legal, or a fiduciary committee member for the company’s DC plan).

PSI members may be invited to DCIIA Forums, webinars, and plan sponsor–specific roundtables or discussions.

The TRP helps eligible plan sponsors attend DCIIA’s Innovation, Public Policy, and Academic Forums by reimbursing certain travel costs. PSI members receive an email with a short application several weeks before each Forum. Approvals are typically provided within three business days.

Yes—any colleagues involved in plan oversight or administration are welcome to participate.

Plan sponsors can join through an invitation or by completing a brief profile on the DCIIA website.

PSI members receive access to research, benchmarking insights, webinars, roundtables, and invitations to select DCIIA Forums.

Individuals involved in managing or overseeing a defined contribution plan, including HR, Finance, Legal, Benefits, or fiduciary committee members.

No—PSI participation is available to plan sponsors at no cost as part of DCIIA’s mission to support better retirement outcomes.

PSI is DCIIA’s community for plan sponsors, offering education, peer insights, and access to research that supports effective plan design and fiduciary decision‑making.

Members can view active projects and working files in the Resource Library or through RRC communications and webinars.

Partner Members receive a seat on the RRC Executive Committee as part of their membership benefits.

Research priorities are shaped by the RRC Executive Committee, member input, and emerging industry needs.

RRC members have access to the Advisor, Institutional Consultant, and Plan Sponsor Advisory Councils.

Members can participate through Advisory Councils, working groups, or by joining discussions tied to active research initiatives.

RRC members can access published reports, raw survey files, segmentation data, regressions, moderator guides, working files, and active project materials.

Members can log into the DCIIA website and visit the Resource Library. RRC members will see additional research files, working documents, and data sets.

The RRC is DCIIA’s research engine, providing members with data, insights, and analysis on trends shaping the defined contribution ecosystem.

Firms should provide the name and contact information of the individual designated to serve as the alternate board representative. This can be updated at any time by contacting DCIIA.

They can create a profile using the link provided in your welcome materials. Alternatively, you can send their name, email, city, and state to DCIIA staff, who will create profiles on your behalf.

Yes—DCIIA membership is firm‑wide, and there is no limit to the number of colleagues who can be added. 

Attendance is limited to plan sponsors who are part of the Plan Sponsor Institute. HR, Finance, Legal, and fiduciary committee members involved in DC plan oversight are all eligible.

Members of the PSI Alley program also receive one seat at each of the PSI events. Please email membership@dciia.org to inquire about the PSI Alley program.

PSI Roundtables are small, discussion‑based sessions where plan sponsors share experiences, compare approaches, and explore emerging trends in plan design, investments, and participant behavior.

The RRC Summits are held as a part of each of the three DCIIA forums each year. Attendance is open to RRC members, Partner Members, invited plan sponsors, and select industry participants.

Yes—firms can update names, titles, or contact information through their member profile or by contacting DCIIA support

Yes—attendees receive a confirmation email with logistics including room block and agenda details. If you have lodging related questions please email DCIIA@AvivantPartners.com.

Some events allow additional seats depending on capacity. Firms can contact DCIIA staff at info@dciia.org to check availability.

Seat allocations depend on membership level. Partner Members receive additional seats at the Innovation Forum, Public Policy Forum, and Academic Forum. The Advisor Institute Forum is an invitation-only event. Please reach out to request information or an invitation info@dciia.org. 

Anyone listed under your firm’s membership can register. You can add or update contacts at any time. In-person events do have seat limitations per firm but additional seats can be purchased. 

Committee membership is open to all member firms, and joining is simple. Once added, you’ll receive meeting invites automatically.

Accurate contact information ensures you receive event invitations, Forum updates, webinar links, and other member‑only communications without interruption.
